Important Update:On May 25, 2006, A Settlement Agreement in the South Carolina Tenet Class Action received preliminary approval. If you were a patient at East Cooper Regional Medical Center, Hilton Head Regional Medical Center, and/or Piedmont Healthcare System in South Carolina during the period October 7, 2001 to May 22, 2006, your rights may be affected.

Important Update: The postmark deadline to submit a claim passed on January 11, 2006.

A Fairness Hearing was held on August 5, 2005. At that hearing, the Court granted Final Approval. The Court's decision to grant Final Approval of the Settlement was appealed, and that appeal was recently resolved. The Settlement Administrator is in the process of completing the Claim evaluation process. Please check this site periodically for updated information. If you would like information about the status of your claim, please contact the Claims Administrator at: 1(888) 404-8013.

You are a member of the proposed settlement class if you were a patient of Tenet Healthcare-Affiliated Hospitals between June 15, 1999 to December 31, 2004 and were either:

 (1)  UNINSURED; or
 (2) 
  		UNDERINSURED and paid out-of-pocket the Gross Charge or a co-payment or deductible based on the percentage of the Gross Charge.

If you are a Class Member and you paid out-of-pocket for medical treatment and would like to participate in the proposed settlement, you were required to complete and submit the Proof of Claim Form to the Settlement Claims Administrator so that it was postmarked no later than January 11, 2006.

If you are a Class Member and received medical treatment but did not pay for that treatment and wish to receive a revised bill, you should call 1-877-668-8736. DO NOT submit a claim form if you want a revised bill.
